ČLS JEP, 24 March 2026 | The Presidium of ČLS JEP strongly objects to statements that question the importance of vaccination and its contribution to protecting public health.
Vaccination is one of the most effective and scientifically validated preventive tools, protecting both individuals and entire populations while reducing the burden on the healthcare system.
Public messages that undermine trust in vaccination can directly lead to lower immunisation rates and the return of preventable diseases. Negative statements erode trust between patients and healthcare professionals. The consequences of such statements are borne primarily by patients, particularly the most vulnerable groups, including children and the elderly.
Questioning vaccination is not only scientifically inaccurate or misleading, but also conflicts with the legal and institutional framework for public health protection, which the state is obliged to establish, safeguard, and actively implement.
For these reasons, the Presidium of ČLS JEP calls on all entities influencing public debate to base their statements on scientific evidence and to respect their responsibility for protecting public health.
